| The June 1847 issue of the American Chess Magazine gives the result, reporting on the end of the correspondence match between Boston and Philadelphia, and the subsequent match between Tilghman and Hammond. Since Hammond visited Philadelphia to conclude the correspondence match, which must have just ended, the match with Tilghman must have been very recent, so I suppose that it ended in May 1847. |
