Notes: |
The Era of 20 June 1858 (p.13) says that the match had started, and the score at that point was +1-1. The Sunday Times of 20 June 1858 (supplement, p.4) gives the same information as well as the start date. The report in the Era of 18 July 1858 (p.13) says the score is +4-4=1 but suggests that it might still have been in progress. The Sunday Times of 1 Aug. 1858 (supplement, p.4) and the Chess Player's Chronicle of Apr. 1859 say that Kenny won 5-4, so presumably that means Kenny won one more game but this result does not count the draw. |
