| Result given in Bell's Life in London of 9 Oct. 1853, suggesting that it was a series of games rather than a formal match. Also given in The Field (via Tim Harding), and the British Chess Review. I presume it was played even (without handicap). It was played during a visit by Journoud to London, which I guess, from the date of the report in the British Chess Review and the dates of two of the games given in La Régence, to have occurred in July and Aug. 1853. |
