| This first match between Pindar and Kipping was played sometime between Pindar's arrival in Manchester (1855 or very early 1856) and 27 Sept. 1857, when the result of their three matches was reported in The Sunday Times (see Hindle). Since some games are given dated 1856, I assume it was played that year. |
