Feenstra Kuiper, Golombek and Di Felice give +16-15=0 for Hamppe; The Schachzeitung of Aug. 1850 (p.283), and the Chess Player's Chronicle (Oct. 1850, p.289) say they played about 30 games, Hamppe being 'only one or two ahead'. The Chess Player's Chronicle also says that it took place in the last month Falkbeer spent in Vienna, but it is not clear when that was. I do not know whether this was a formal match. |
