According to the 18 Mar. 1860 issue of the Era (p.14), they 'contested several games... the laurels being equally divided.' However, the report by Journoud in La (Nouvelle) Régence (Mar. 1860, p.93) says that they played two games and he won the first and would have lost the second but for a lucky chance that turned the game in his favour, which sounds like he won 2-0. |
