| The Era of 18 Nov. 1860 (p.7) says that though Kipping 'conducted his games with great skill', Kolisch 'carried the victory'. The issue of 25 Nov. 1860 (p.6) says 'Mr. Kipping, with whom he [Kolisch] played several games, had to yield to Mr. Kolisch's superior powers in every instance. The Spirit of the Times has a report taken from the Manchester Guardian, saying that Kolisch won 'a couple of jousts'. I record this as a 2-0 for Kolisch, though there might have been more wins for Kolisch. |
