Feenstra Kuiper gives the results as +5-1=0 for Euwe; Di Felice gives +5-0=1 for Euwe, and gives the sequence of individual game scores. Feenstra Kuiper gives the two locations, Nijmegen (Nimwegen) and Amsterdam; Di Felice gives only Amsterdam. The report in Algemeen Handelsblad of 21 Mar. 1920 says that the 5th game was played last night (20 Mar.), and gives the score to date as 4-0 for Euwe, with one game adjourned. The report in the Algemeen Handelblad of 22 Mar. 1920 says that the last game was won by Euwe the day before (21 Mar. 1920) and that Euwe then resigned the adjourned game. The report in De Telegraaf of 23 Mar. 1920 is not consistent. It says that the 5th game was played Saturday evening (the 16th? or the 23rd?) and that the 6th game was a draw. The accounts in the Algemeen Handelblad seem more reliable, so I will take the result to be +5-1=0 for Euwe. |
