Event data |
Place: Huddersfield |
Start date: May 1866 |
End date: May 1866 |
|
Notes: |
This was intended as a match for the first to win seven games, started during a visit by Skipworth to Huddersfield, but only one game was played after which, the report in the Chess Player's Magazine (July 1866, p.220) says that 'The match will not, however, be continued for some months.' This was played near the time of the West Yorkshire Chess Association Meeting of 26 May 1866, so I will guess that it took place in May, though it could have been June 1866. |
