| The Chess Players' Quarterly Chronicle of Apr. 1871 (vol.2, p.253) says that this single game was played between these two players on a visit to Darlington on 26 Feb. 1871, but the issue of Aug. 1871 (vol.2, p.302) gives a drawn game between them played at Darlington and dated 1 Mar. 1871. |
