Notes: |
Feenstra Kuiper, Golombek, Hooper and Whyld, Di Felice and Sarah's Harrwitz and Szén pages give +3-1=1 for Harrwitz. Spinrad also gives +3-1=2 from the Quarterly for Chess History. Harrwitz himself gives 5 games with result +3-1=1 in the British Chess Review but says only that these 5 games were played during Szen's recent visit to London, suggesting but not stating explicitly that no other games were played. Golombek gives date as 1852 on p.136, but 1853 on p.317. Other sources give 1853. The date of Harrwitz' report in the British Chess Review suggests that the games took place in May 1853. The location is given incorrectly as Berlin by Feenstra Kuiper, Di Felice and Alberti, but correctly as London by Golombek. |
