| Feenstra Kuiper, Hooper and Whyld, and Di Felice give result as +7-5=0 for Dufresne; La Grande Storia degli Scacchi and the Berliner Schachverband website give 7.5-5.5. The report in the Chess Player's Chronicle of Jul. 1853 (p.196) gives +7-5, but draws were often not reported. Hooper and Whyld give the date as 1854; Feenstra Kuiper, Di Felice, Spinrad, La Grande Storia degli Scacchi and the Berliner Schachverband website give the date as 1853. The Chess Player's Chronicle of Jul. 1853 says it took place 'lately', following the Berlin tournament, so possibly in Jan. 1853. |
