| This result is given in El Sport of 12 Aug. 1886 (p.3). The combined result of 3 matches between Vazquez and Carvajal (+10-10=2) is given in the Oct. 1886 issue of British Chess Magazine and the 15 Sep. 1886 issue of the Brooklyn Chess Chronicle. Since the first match result was 5-2 for Vazquez, the other two should come to +8-5=2 for Carvajal, but the scores of these two matches given in El Sport total to +8-5=1 for Carvajal. I am guessing that it finished in Aug. 1886. |
