Event data |
Place: London, England |
Start date: 17 Aug. 1855 |
End date: Sep. 1855 |
|
Notes: |
All 15 games are given in the Chess Player's Chronicle (Sept., Oct. and Nov. 1855 issues). The 19 Aug. 1855 issue of the Era says the match started 'Friday last', i.e., 17 Aug., but the 26 Aug. 1855 issue says it started on 'Friday, the 18th inst.', but the Friday was the 17th. The result is given in the Oct. 1855 issue of the Chess Player's Chronicle. I guess, therefore, that it ended in Sept. 1855. |
