Notes: |
Dubois gives an account of the many games they played, with details of some parts of the series, and concludes with the statement that in the end the difference between them was about 4 to 1. It is clear from what precedes that this is 4 to 1 in Dubois' favour (for example, he mentions winning a particular series of ten games +9-0=1, played in August, and winning at another point 8 games in a row). The Chess Monthly of Aug. 1858 gives some games and dates them to July and August 1855. |
