| The Chess Player's Chronicle (Feb. 1856, p.61) gives the result of the match saying it finished 'since our last impression' and so in Jan. 1856. The Oct. 1855 issue (p.349) gives two games from the match so it must have started before Oct. 1855. These two players also played a match without odds in 1855 (Chess Player's Chronicle, May 1855, p.161). The Sunday Times of 14 June 1857 (supplement, p.4) says that Zytogorski had won a majority of games against Green at Pawn and Move odds, so perhaps there was another match or series of games in 1857. |
