| Notes: |
| The Jan. 1858 issue of the Chess Monthly (p.30) gives a total score in New York of Morphy against Perrin (playing even) as +1-0=2. The first of these was played on the day Morphy arrived in New York, 5 Oct. 1857, according to Edge, cited at Sarah's Morphy website, and Lawson. The New York Clipper of 10 Oct. 1857 says that Morphy played two games with Perrin on 5 Oct., a win and a draw. All were played during Morphy's stay in New York from Oct. to Dec. 1857. |
