| A letter by Edge dated 30 Aug. 1858 gives +2-0 for Morphy; Spinrad gives the same result from the New York Times of 21 Oct. 1858. Edge suggests that these games were played between his previous letter to Fiske (dated 6 Aug. 1858) and the 30 Aug. 1858 letter, so I presume they were played in Aug. 1858. |
