The result +5-0=2 for Morphy is given by Walker in Bell's Life in London of 21 Nov. 1858 (p.3), by Löwenthal in the Era of 12 Dec. 1858 (p.5) and by Falkbeer in the Sunday Times of 5 Dec. 1858 (p.10). Spinrad gives the same result from the New York Times of 27 Nov. 1858. These games must have taken place after Morphy's arrival in Paris, so in Sept., Oct. or Nov. 1858. |
