| The Spirit of the Times (3 Jul. 1875) gives the result as +2-1 for Davidson, but van Winsen cites as well the Philadelphia Intelligencer (15 Jun. 1875) and Turf, Field and Farm (18 Jun. 1875) giving +2-0 for Davidson. Perhaps the third game was played after these two reports appeared. |
