| Spinrad gives 2-0 for Morphy without mention of odds, from the Brooklyn Eagle, 17 June 1859, but that issue does say that Morphy gave Knight odds, and is not clear about whether one or two games were played; Lawson and Sarah's Morphy website give 1-0 for Morphy at Knight odds, from Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper of 25 June 1859. The Chess Monthly of July 1859 (p.228) also gives 1-0 for Morphy at Knight odds. |
