| Max Lange says that during two stays in Europe, in 1840 and in 1850, Thompson played nearly 100 games against Kieseritzky, who gave him Pawn and Move odds, 'of which he won a slight majority'. Although we don't know the exact score, this information is reasonably precise, so I have supposed that they played 50 games in each of those two years, Thompson winning by 26-24 in each case. |
