| Spinrad dates this to 1861, citing Sergeant, who is not precise about the date (and doesn't mention the draw), but it is reported in the May 1862 issue of the Chess Player's Chronicle with result +7-3=1 for Falkbeer, so I guess that it finished in Apr. 1862. The score was 2-1 for Falkbeer when reported in the 13 Apr. 1862 issue of the Era (p.14), so it may have started in Apr. 1862 as well. |
