Giffen gives dates as July-Aug. 1862; Di Felice has July 1862; a partial result of +1-1=0 is given in the Era of 27 Aug. 1862 (p.5); a partial result is given in the 2 Aug. 1862 issue of the Illustrated London News, +2-3=1 for Anderssen; the final result +3-3=2 is given in the 3 Aug. 1862 issue of the Era (p.13), after which it is stated that Anderssen and Paulsen had left London 'Friday last' (1 Aug.?), so the end date of the match must have been at the very end of July. |
