| Di Felice, Staunton in the Illustrated London News of 10 Jan. 1863 (p.55), La Grande Storia degli Scacchi and Spinrad (from the Oxford Encyclopaedia of Chess Games and Schach Datenbank) give +6-3=1 for Mackenzie; Feenstra Kuiper, Hooper and Whyld, the Era of 18 Jan. 1863 (p.14), and the New York Clipper of 21 Feb. 1863 give +6-3=2 for Mackenzie. Feenstra Kuiper and Di Felice give location as Dublin, but the Illustrated London News of 20 Dec. 1862 (p. 654) and the Era of 14 Dec. 1862 (p.5) say it took place at the Grand Cigar Divan in London. |
