| Hilbert's article on Mackenzie gives some of these games as published by Reichhelm in the Evening Bulletin early in 1864, but saying only that they were played 'a short time ago'. Hilbert's book on Leonard says that the result +3-3 applies to games played up until Sept. 1863. This partial result was given in the New York Clipper of 19 Sept. 1863. The New York Clipper of 21 Nov. 1863, and Van Winsen say 13 games were played, with Mackenzie finishing 1 game ahead. |
