Notes: |
Golombek, Feenstra Kuiper and Di Felice all date this match to 1865. It appears that all are wrong. Renette and Zavatarelli show (from primary sources) that it took place in the spring of 1860. One of the games is dated to April, so I will guess that the match took place in that month. The Neue Berliner Schachzeitung of Apr. 1864 (p.128) gives a match result of 7-0 for Suhle against Hirschfeld, without a date, which may refer to the same event (if two draws were not counted in this result). |
