| Reicchelm (p.10) lists this match under events of 1866, but then gives one of the match games (p.77) with date 1865. The Philadelphia Daily Evening Bulletin of 12 Jan. 1866 says the match started 'a short time ago' and gives the final result of +7-5=2 for Sayen. I assume, therefore, that it began in Dec. 1865 and ended in Jan. 1866. |
