| Reichhelm does not call this a match but refers to 'six set games'. The result is reported the 7 Mar. 1874 issue of the New York Clipper, and in the Mar. 1874 issue of the Maryland Chess Review (p.99), which says that the games were played after Mason's match with Martinez, so I guess that it was played entirely in Feb. 1874. |
