Notes: |
Elo gives the result, 9.5-4.5 for Zukertort, but dates it 1881-1883; all other sources give 1881; Di Felice, and Renette and Zavatarelli give 27 June - 29 July 1881. Nick Pope gives all the games with exact dates from contemporary sources, but only for 13 games, the 13th played on 27 July 1881. The dates and games are also given in the Chess Player's Chronicle, including the final 14th game, played on 29 July 1881. Sergeant also gives the final date as 29 July 1881. Sarah's Blackburne web page gives +6-2=5 for Zukertort, apparently based on Nick Pope's collection of only the first 13 games. The result was +7-2=5 for Zukertort, and the definitive account is Harding's in his biography of Blackburne. |
