| The combined result of 3 matches between Vazquez and Carvajal (+10-10=2) is given in the Oct. 1886 issue of British Chess Magazine and the 15 Sep. 1886 issue of the Brooklyn Chess Chronicle. The August 1886 issue of the Brooklyn Chess Chronicle (p.164) and the 5 Aug. 1886 issue of El Sport (p.2) give the score of the first match (+5-2 for Vazquez), recorded here. The Brooklyn Chess Chronicle says that Vazquez arrived in Havana on 21 July, so I guess that the match took place in July. |
