| According to the International Chess Magazine of Apr. 1888, this was the result of offhand games played in 'the latter part' of Steinitz' stay of about 5 weeks in Havana, arriving 15 Feb. and leaving 22 Mar. 1888, so I guess that all these games were played in Mar. 1888. The International Chess Magazine has 'S. Lopez'. The 15 Nov. 1891 issue of El Pablo Morphy (p.32) has a game by 'Guillermo Lopez' receiving knight odds from Steinitz and dated 4 Mar. 1888. |
