Biographical data |
Name: Forth, Charles |
Also known as: C.F. |
Born: |
Died: 27 July 1845 |
|
Notes: |
Hooper and Whyld give date of death as 1845; Gaige gives date of death as 27-07-1846, but the year is clearly in error here; Staunton gives date of death as 27-07-1845 ('on Sunday last') in the Illustrated London News of 2 Aug. 1845 (p.77). The earliest reference to Forth I have found is in the 10 July 1841 issue of the Chess Player's Chronicle (v.1, p.172), as 'C.F.' of Carlow. The notice of his death in Bell's Life in London calls him 'Ford'. |
