Biographical data |
Name: Abonyi, István |
Born: 18 Aug. 1886 |
Died: 5 June 1942 |
|
Notes: |
Gaige (Chess Tournament Crosstables) lists an 'I. Abonyi' at Budapest 1906, but an 'S. Abonyi' at other events in Hungary, Prague and Hamburg. Di Felice has 'Abonyi, Istvan' at all of these events. I will guess that they are the same player, since the Hungarian name Istvan is Stefan in other languages, but this may be wrong. |
