The 12 Apr. 1884 issue of Land and Water (p.346), the May 1884 issue of the Chess Monthly (p.260), and the 8 Apr. 1885 issue of the Chess Player's Chronicle (p.452) have 'E.A. Coombe'. The Era of 19 Nov. 1871 (p.2) has 'Coumbe'.
