Notes: |
The Nottinghamshire Guardian of 13 Aug. 1886 (p.3) has 'Mr. J. Wilde, of Nottingham'. The Book of the Counties' Chess Association (p.60) has 'Wilde, Rev.-' as a participant in the 1886 Counties Chess Association event in Nottingham, and has 'Mr. John R. Wilde' as a committee member of the event. The Minute Book and the Record Book of the Nottingham Chess Club have 'J.R. Wild'. I presume these are all the same person. Is this 'John Wild' of Liverpool in the 1890s? |
