| Only partial results available. This was an all-play-all handicap tournament with about 36 players, though only 26 or 27 took an active part, and 2 games were to be played per pairing in principle, but many games were not played. First class players (including Mason and Delmar) gave second class players (including Perrin, Alberoni, and Dill) odds of the drawn game. Total scores for the top 5 players (Mason, Delmar, Perrin, Alberoni, Dill) are given by van Winsen and the Westminster Papers, but they played different numbers of games. Mason played 50, Delmar, Perrin and Alberoni played 48 and Dill played 40. Although the reports don't state which opponents were actually played by each and which were not, I will assume that there were 26 players, so that Mason's score is complete. I also assume that the 2 games between the bottom player in the tournament and each of Delmar, Perrin, and Alberoni were not played, and that the 2 games between each of the bottom 5 players and Dill were not played. This may not be quite right, but should not distort the ratings by much. |
