Gaige and the Westminster Papers only indicate that Anderssen won the play-off; Di Felice and La Grande Storia degli Scacchi give the exact 3-way play-off results. Feenstra Kuiper gives only total scores that do not match the crosstables of other sources. In Hundert Jahre Schachturniere he omits Schallopp and says Anderssen scored 4, instead of 3.5. In Hundert Jahre Schachzweikämpfe he includes Schallopp and says Anderssen scored 5.5, which would include his two play-off wins, but then gives Göring and Pitschel 3.5, which does not include their play-off draw. Gaige gives dates 9-13 June, 1876; Di Felice, La Grande Storia degli Scacchi and the Westminster Papers give dates 9-13 July, 1876. |
