Name: Manchester Chess Club Tournament - 3rd Class |
Place: Manchester |
Start date: Dec. 1860 |
End date: Apr. 1861 |
|
Notes: |
The original pairings list Young-Sofiani, but when neither played, they were replaced by Spencely and Fuller. In the second round, we know that Bantock won his first game against Spencely and won the match (which means he ended up with 3 wins) but we don't know the exact score. I will guess at 3-0. The Spirit of the Times of 2 Feb. 1861 has Dungannon winning against J.G. Wood in the first round, rather than Bantock. |
