Name: Rye Beach Tournament |
Place: Rye Beach |
Start date: 22 July 1918 |
End date: 28 July 1918 |
|
Notes: |
Gaige and Di Felice give the official crosstable, but the Brooklyn Daily Eagle of 25 July 1918 (supp. p.2) indicates that Ring took the place of Zirn who withdrew after the first round, where he lost to Kupchik. Ring seems to have played all his games, including against Kupchik, so Kupchik had to play an extra game. Gaige and Di Felice give the end date as 26 July 1918, but the American Chess Bulletin of Sept.-Oct. 1918 (p.175) states that the final round was played on 28 July 1918. |
