Start date: 10 Dec. 1868 |
End date: 9 Jan. 1869 |
|
Notes: |
Only partial results available. This was probably a 48-player double-round all-play-all (some sources say 42), but many of the games were never played, and Mackenzie's final score accounts for 96 games, instead of 94. Although van Winsen, the Era, and the Round Table give final scores for the three prize-winners, Mackenzie, Delmar and Mason, most of them did not play their full quota of 94 games, they played different numbers of games, and it is not indicated which opponents they did not play, so these totals cannot be used for rating. I will only use results of pairings for which the scores of both games are known (apart from possible draws), and odds if any. There is only one such pairing. |
