End date: Dec. 1895 |

Notes: |
Stumm and Walker withdrew after completing the first round. Martin did not play his second game against Atwell, Bell, or Smith. The play-off was for the first to win 3 games, the first 3 draws not counting. Nine games were played with the score listed as 3.5-2.5 for Palmer with 3 draws. I take this to mean that the score of actual games played was +3-2=4 for Palmer, the first three draws not counting (Syson certainly won two games early on in the match). The Telegraph (Brisbane) of 27 Feb. 1926 (p.15) gives a play-off score of +3-2=6 for Palmer, but perhaps an additional 3 draws were erroneously added on again. |
