End date: 6 Jan. 1883 |

Notes: |
Yanofsky lists only 5 players, but badly garbles both participant names and scores. Howe and Ascher played a game to break the tie, which was drawn, and were then asked to player another game, but in the end Ascher refused and the championship title was given to Howe. The main event finished 6 Jan. 1883. I am not sure when the drawn play-off game was played, but certainly before 17 Feb. 1883. |
