This was a double-round all-play-all, but Watson forfeited all his second round games. Di Felice gives a crosstable with some missing entries, which therefore cannot be used, but gives total scores for all players, which can be used. However, the scores do not add up, since the total score of all players comes to 56.5, including forfeited games (or 49.5 without), where it should come to 56 (or 49 without the forfeited games). Thus, one score has an extra half point that should not be there, but it is not clear which. Complete scores are known for Gundersen, Read and Watson, so their totals are correct. It also seems unlikely that Steele's result was less, or he would not have been listed second. I will guess that Merkel's score should be 3 (plus 1 for the forfeited game) rather than 3.5, as given by Di Felice, though it might have been Loughran, Tate or Stanes whose listed score is a half point too high. |
