Event table notes

Event data
Name: German Chessmaster Association Tournament
Place: Berlin
Start date: 21 July 1890
End date: 26 July 1890

Notes:
Gaige's crosstable includes von Minckwitz as the 9th player, who scored 0, and does not indicate any defaulted games; Di Felice's crosstable does not include von Minckwitz, but indicates that von Bardeleben and Harmonist defaulted some of their games; Hoppa, at the Berliner Schachverband website, gives the full 9-player crosstable with defaults indicated, including all but 3 of von Minckwitz' games, and notes explaining the defaults. It also indicates that F. Riemann started but withdrew before the third round. The Münchner Neueste Nachrichten of 31 July 1890 lists 'von Wellenstein' as a player. The index of Deutsches Wochenschach 1893 (p.477) clarifies that 'Leberecht von Wellenstein' was a pseudonym for von Minckwitz.
