Event table notes

Event data
Name: Mechanics Institute Championship
Place: San Francisco
Start date: 1 Oct. 1903
End date: 22 Nov. 1903

Notes:
This was a 10-player double-round all-play-all tournament, but some players did not play all their games. At least at the last reports available, one game between Ott and Franklin remained unplayed, and both games between Ott and Griffin. Also, both Spaulding-Dana games were unplayed (as of 8 Nov. at least), and at least one Spaulding-Cutting game. Between the 8 Nov. and the 15 Nov. reports, Franklin played a draw, either with Spaulding or with Dana. If the latter then both Spaulding-Cutting games remained unplayed; if the former, then 1 Spaulding-Cutting and 1 Dana-Cutting game remained unplayed. I will guess that Franklin drew with Dana, though if the other case is correct, there will be a small error (Dana would then have 6.5/15 and Spaulding would have 7.5/15).
