Notes: |
F.C. le Comte is listed twice in the results, coming 4th with 14 points and last with 3 points. This is clearly an error. I am guessing that one of the two, and I think more likely the one who came last, was actually J.W. le Comte, who was a problemist in Surabaya at the time. There were also two players with variant spellings of 'van Ledden Hulsebosch', one with initials C.L. and the other with initials H.J., but I will guess that it was the latter in this event, since the name given here ('van Ledden Hulzebosch') is closer in form to 'H.J. van Ledden Hulsebosch' who appears in 1897, than to 'C.L. van Ledden Hulsebos', who appears in 1896, though this evidence is admittedly thin. |
