| The Brooklyn Daily Eagle of 5 Nov. 1936 (p.26) says that the tournament will start Sunday (8 Nov. 1936). The Brooklyn Daily Eagle of 28 Jan. 1937 (p.24) says that the last round of the tournament would be held that weekend (30-31 Jan.). The 4 Feb. 1937 issue of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle (p.24) reports the final scores and says that a play-off will be held between Kashdan and Simonson. The 11 Feb. issue of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle says the first play-off game will be held that evening. The outcome of the play-off appears in the 4 Mar. 1937 issue of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle (p.24), so I guess that the third games was played at the end of Feb. 1937. |
