Event data |
Name: Congress of the German Chess Union in Vienna - Hauptturnier C |
Place: Vienna |
Start date: 18 July 1926 |
End date: 2 Aug. 1926 |
|
Notes: |
Goertz forfeited to Perneder, Eberl, Horowitz, Maurer, Knisbacher, and Becker. Gaige and Di Felice have 'Ebert' and 'Kinisbacher' here, but the Deutschösterreichische Tageszeitung and the Wiener Schachzeitung have 'Eberl' and 'Knisbacher'. Gaige has '[A.] Becker' and Di Felice has 'Becker, Albert' here, but the Deutschösterreichische Tageszeitung and the Wiener Schachzeitung have 'F. Becker'. There was a play-off match for first here (and for the Master title), but it was played months later in Dec. 1926, and in Dresden, rather than Vienna, so it is recorded separately here as a match. |
