Name: Vienna Championship |
Place: Vienna |
Start date: 1940 |
End date: 1940 |

Notes: |
I have guessed at the identities of players named Rautenberg, Weiss, and Haberditz. According to Hans M¨ller's column in the Neues Wiener Tagblatt (17 Mar. 1940, p.10), it was Herbert Weil here and not his brother Wolfgang Weil. M¨ller played in the event, so he would know which Weil was there, despite another reference sent by Alan McGowan showing Dr. Wolfgang Weil there. Norbert Rautenberg was champion of the Hietzing Club in Vienna in 1945. |
